Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Mary Kawar, together with the Director of the German banking group (KfW) office in Jordan, Christian Schaub, signed an agreement for an additional grant worth 30.6 million euros from the European Union, in order to complete the implementation of establishing schools in Jordan.
The Minister of Planning said in a statement on December 5, 2018, that the agreement aims to build ten new public schools, furnish and equip them with laboratories. She added that this comes in response to the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, as Jordanian public schools have received large numbers of students beyond their capacity, as a result of the enrolment of thousands of Syrian students.
