About 26 minors have been caught smoking shisha in three different cafés in Madaba, southwest of Amman, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, while field work was carried out by the Juvenile Behavior Control Committee, according to Hasan Al Qeyam, Mayor of Madaba governorate.

The underage students were found smoking shisha during school hours. They were detained at a security center, while the police contacted their parents and asked them to take measures for this not to happen again.

According to Juvenile Law, anyone who provides youth with harmful substances like shisha is liable to six months imprisonment and fines, in addition to closing down the café if violations were repeated.

As a result, the authorities closed down the three cafés, two for not being licensed and the third for not presenting the license when the committee asked for it.
