A shepherd fell 15 meters to his death on Saturday evening, November 24, while herding his flock of sheep on a mountain in Madaba, a security source has said.

The source added that a rescue team with the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) immediately made its way to the scene of the accident on foot, as they couldn’t reach the area the shepherd had fallen into by helicopter or otherwise.

It took two hours to reach the shepherd, who was taken to hospital after using special equipment to fetch him out.

Yesterday, a French tourist died in Petra after falling 20 meters from a cliff while trying to take a picture of the Treasury.

Hikers and anyone walking in a mountainous area is advised to stay off the edges and to take much care if they have to walk those routes.
