The Ministry of Water and Irrigation assured the residents of Amman and Zarqa that water will not be cut off from their homes while the Water Authority halts pumping water from the Disi Dam for one week, starting Sunday, November 25.

Water will be pumped into those homes using other sources of water, such as the Zai Water Station, the ministry clarified.

Spokesperson for the ministry, Omar Salameh, said that the Disi Dam will be undergoing routine maintenance works, just as it does once every year.

Salameh has urged the public to ignore rumors regarding pumping water and to rest assured that those maintenance works are to ensure that the Dam will remain functional and safe to use for many years to come.
