Six people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire started in a shopping mall in the Tabarbour area in Amman late Thursday night, November 22.

A security source at the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) said that the fire had originated and spread from the mall’s electric meter room on the first floor.

Those who inhaled the smoke were taken to the Marka Military Hospital and the Prince Hamza Hospital, while the mall was evacuated to keep shoppers safe.

A CDD committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire.
