Shurman pointed out that the Directorate in coordanation with the CDD are implementing measures in order to reduce risk of forest violations, in addition to increasing pumps and reservoirs to collect water to be used in case of fires.

In turn, the Director of the CDD, Colonel Hani Smadi, said that the biggest challenges facing forest resources are man-made fires, which take more effort and need more time to put out; especially that the topography of the area is mountainous and difficult to manoeuvre, noting that the CDD dealt with more than 85 fires during the past 3 months.
