Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Bassam Talhouni, along with the Hungarian Ambassador to Amman, Csaba Czibere, discussed the potential of raising the number of Hungarian students studying in Jordanian universities in exchange for a similar increase in Jordanian students in Hungarian universities.

During the meeting, Talhouni praised the efforts made by the staff of the Hungarian embassy in Amman and the Hungarian government in providing a comfortable and safe study environment for Jordanian students studying in Hungarian universities.

Talhouni added that Hungary is one of the most welcoming countries for Jordanian students in the cultural exchange program between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Czibere said that the scholarship program offered by his government is based on bilateral cooperation agreements involving 65 partner countries, stressing that Jordan is the largest beneficiary with 400 scholarships per year.

Czibere stressed the scholarships cover all levels of studies in the bachelor as well as in the higher degrees, noting that the scholarships cover tuition fees and monthly living expenses, in addition to housing and health insurance.

The ambassador praised the level of professionalism in the Jordanian higher education institutions, especially in fields of teaching and scientific researches.

Currently, there are about 741 Jordanian students enrolled in Hungarian universities through Hungarian scholarships.
