Amman Mayor: Cesspit incident referred to Prosecutor General

Amman Governor, Saad Shihab, stated that sump-incident which killed two citizens on Wednesday, was referred to Prosecutor General of southern Amman on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Formed by Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh, a Technical Committee was directed to investigat the incident in which a 5-meter cesspit in Khirbet Al Souq has led to the death of two people; a 14-year-old girl and a 33-year-old.

The Committee confirmed that the license was given to the construction of a water-well and not a cesspit. The report also shows that the cesspit doesn’t overlook the main street, which means that it is outside the area managed under the Municipality of Amman, not to mention that the Municipality has indeed granted the license of construction to a water-well, not to a cesspit.
