During the visit of King Abdullah II to the Netherlands in March 2018, the Netherlands was invited to assist Jordan in addressing its challenges in the areas of water and agriculture. NWP and the Netherlands Embassy in Jordan followed up on this desire for cooperation through the idea of a scoping mission to Jordan.

Taking into account the analysis and activities , as well as the priorities of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Embassy in Jordan and NWP have a common interest in identifying opportunities for strengthening Dutch-Jordanian collaboration and to let Dutch expertise and technology have a positive impact on Jordan’s water and agricultural challenges.

The visiting delegation, which consists of twenty experts from the water and agriculture sectors in the Netherlands, will start its visit on Sunday, November 11, 2018.

The primary goals of this delegation is fact finding on the water and agriculture challenges and opportunities in Jordan by meeting with influential stakeholders and visiting projects, and to investigate the potential for Dutch-Jordanian collaboration for the sectors of water and agriculture, on the levels of government, research, development, education and private sector.

The scoping mission on water and agriculture in Jordan is a starting point for increased collaboration of government, research, development and education, private sector parties and financial institutions.
