The Romanian Ambassador to Amman, Nicolae Comanescu - with the support of the Romanian Agency for International Development (RoAid)- inaugurated the renovation of the Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) strategic warehouse, where first-aid supplies are stored, on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

The Romanian ambassador stressed the importance of JRC’s work in serving refugees and residents of conflicted areas, pointing out that the opening of the warehouse is a beginning of more cooperation.

For his part, JRC President Mohammad Mutlaq Al-Hadid expressed his appreciation for the Romanian support as it comes at a time when the region is going through developments that require JRC to be equipped in order to serve those in need to the fullest.

"The second step of our cooperation will be in the medical field," Al-Hadid added. "The Romanian side will provide the Jordanian Red Crescent Hospital with some modern medical equipment to help detect infectious diseases."

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Amman, Dr. Miftah Tualib, as well representatives of the Romanian Agency for International Development (RoAid) and a number of invited guests.
