His Majesty King Abdullah II departed on a working visit to Washington DC, on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was sworn in as Regent.

During his visit, His Majesty is to receive the Templeton Prize in appreciation for the efforts in promoting interfaith harmony, safeguarding Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites as well as protecting religious freedom.

To be held at the Washington National Cathedral on November 13, 2018, and with the presence of around 600 political, religious, intellectual, academic, and media representatives, the Templeton Prize Ceremony is organised by the John Templeton Foundation and will celebrate King Abdullah’s achievements.

At the ceremony, His Majesty is to deliver a speech that highlights the importance of interfaith harmony and cooperation in fighting hatred and extremism, addressing misconceptions, spreading the values of tolerance and harmony regionally and internationally, as well as stressing their importance in facing modern challenges.
