The Ukrainian Embassy in Amman held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Ukraine, which was attended by a number of officials, diplomats and journalists, on November 5, 2018.

Ukrainian Ambassador, Sergei Pasco, expressed appreciation for Jordan's support for Ukraine in the United Nations Security Council, in addition to supporting Ukraine's reforms in various fields.

Pasco added that Jordan and Ukraine have been successful partners in the past years in the development of multi-faceted cooperation for the benefit of both peoples in the economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.

He pointed to the role played by citizens in strengthening relations between the two countries, pointing out that there are 5,000 Ukrainians living in Jordan who have managed to establish a strong and unified society that plays an important role in embodying the distinguished relations and creating a positive Ukrainian image in the Kingdom.

The Ambassador called on Ukrainians in Jordan to ensure that their names are registered in the consulate so that they can participate in Ukraine's presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for next year.

During the ceremony, Jordanian Opera singer, Zeinah Barhoum, former Deputy Mayor of Amman, Mohammed Annab, and writer and historian, Omar Armouti, were honored for their important role in enhancing relations between the two friendly countries.
