Israeli authorities arrested a Palestinian who tried to smuggle 70 pieces of rare coins from Jordan to the West Bank, on Monday, November 5, 2018.

These coins are a unique discovery as they are among the first currencies in the world, and include: metal Roman coins, metal coins depicting Jewish revolutionary Bar Kochba (who revolted against the Roman Empire in 132 CE), golden coins dating back to the early Islamic period, and silver coins dating back to the 5th or 6th century BC.
