Last week’s bad weather conditions resulted in a national disaster, which claimed the lives of 21 civilians in the Dead Sea area.

Similar weather is forecast for this weekend, as Friday, November 2, is expected to be cloudy, cold and will bring heavy showers with it, according to Head of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), Hussein al-Momani.

Momani said that this weekend, thunderstorms will sweep the skies of Jordan, along with plenty of rain, all over the Kingdom, adding that this cold spell will continue until Tuesday, November 6.

JMD has warned citizens against going near valleys and areas where flooding could occur. They also warned that wind speeds are set to reach great highs, while southern and eastern parts of the country will experience low visibility due to sand and dust storms.

Until Friday, temperatures are expected to remain in the region of 23 degrees Celsius.
