Razzaz forms Committee to investigate Dead Sea incident

Following His Majesty's recommendation, Jordanian Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, decided forming a Committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State, Rajai Muasher, on Friday October 26, 2018, to investigate the circumstances associated with the Dead Sea tragic incident.

Members of the Committee include Minister of Justice, Justice, Education and Higher Education, Scientific Research, Health, Municipal Affairs, Tourism, State for Legal Affairs, State for Public Information, Public Works and Housing.

Razzaz instructed that the Committee is to submit a comprehensive report on all the details of the incident so that necessary measures can be taken.

He also directed the Committee to study and review all the procedures concerning school trips, along with providing a proposal on further securing these trips to ensure the safety of these students.

The Commission was instructed to submit a detailed and comprehensive report on the conditions of bridges, public installations and infrastructure status located in all areas of the Kingdom.

A comprehensive study on developing and implementing an early warning system (EWS), that predicts and deals with natural disasters and other undesirable events, was also asked of the Committee.
