The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is scheduled to discuss the situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as part of its quarterly open debate session in New York on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, will be presenting a briefing over the subjects, which will be open to public debate with non-members of the Security Council.

The session is also expected to address the Gazan humanitarian crisis as well as the protests that have recently taken place in Gaza and resulted in about 200 Palestinian deaths.
