Henley Passport Index published the world's most powerful passports for the year 2018, on its website.


Ranking at the world's top is the Japanese passport. Citizens can enter 190 countries visa-free, or with an e-visa.

The Singapore passport ranked second with 189 countries, followed by Germany, France and South Korea in third place. Citizens of these countries enjoy visa-free visits to 188 countries.

Emirati passport, the top ranking in the Arab world, is 21st on the world's list, with 161 countries visa-free; followed by Kuwait in 55th place, with 93 countries, and Qatar at 60 countries.

The lowest ranking Arab passport is the Iraqi, with 106 visa-free countries. Afghanistan, Somalia and Syria share the 105th place, with 32 visa-free destinations. 

It is noteworthy that the Chinese passport has seen remarkable progress in terms of ranking in the recent years. Despite being ranked 71st, China has added 14 new visa-free countries to its passport within a year.

The Henley classification is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the largest travel data in the world.
