Jordanian security forces arrested a man of Arab nationality for posting a video where he was seen burning Jordanian dinars.

The arrest took place on Monday, according to a security source, who explained that the offender had lit up a Jordanian bank note and used it to light a cigarette.

After identifying the man, security forces arrested him on this charge and three other offences that he was wanted by the authorities for.

Legal action will be taken against the culprit accordingly.

Although technically whatever money in your possession is yours, it is in fact owned by the government, therefore making it a criminal offence to deface it in many jurisdictions.
