Jordanian Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, decided on Sunday, October 7, 2018, to form an official delegation to discuss Jordan's third national report for the Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights (UPR), headed by the Government coordinator for human rights, Basil Tarawneh.

Minister of State for Media Affairs, Government Spokesperson Jumana Ghunaimat, confirmed that the formation of the official national delegation comes for the purpose of discussing Jordan's third national report for the UPR ahead of the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva, Switzerland on November 8, 2018.

The UPR is conducted every five years in all 193 UN member states, reviewing the national records of human rights.

Jordan’s third national report comes as a commitment to improving and strengthening the human rights system.
