The Planning Committee of the Jordanian Ministry of Health decided to change its hospitals patients’ visiting hours in order to better serve the patients and allow the medical crew to work in a more organized environment.

This came during the Committee’s meeting with the Minister of Health, Mahmoud Sheyyab, along with the Secretary-General Hikmat Abul Foul and a number managers from various hospitals in the Kingdom.

Sheyyab stated that the ministry has set “a policy to organize the visiting of patients to maintain their privacy, ensure their safety, provide a secure environment, prevent the spread of infections and improve health care."

Hospitals are having a large numbers of patients and visitors who often don’t abide to the allocated hours of visitation, which negatively affects the performance of the medical crew and causes disturbance to the cadres who are unable to provide the best medical services to the patients.

On the other hand, Sheyyab called on the directors of hospitals to appoint a number of specialized doctors in each sector that suffers from any shortage. Accordingly, hospitals should start the recruitment procedures soon.

The meeting also addressed the complaints received by the ministry's hotline 065004545, during which, the Minister stressed the importance of responding to these complaints and inquiries as well as resolving them as seen fit.
