A special investigation team from the Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) arrested four foreigners who installed a device to steal customer data on one of the Capital’s ATMs.

A commissioner from a Jordanian bank in Amman filed a complaint that unidentified individuals have installed a device on one of the bank’s ATMs a few days ago, said a Public Security Directorate spokesman, on October 4, 2018.

The CIU special investigation team found the device which steals data from customers’ credit cards to illegally withdraw funds at a later time.

The spokesman added that the investigative team was able to identify four suspects of foreign nationality, and located their residential apartment in the center of the capital where they were raided and arrested. The search of the apartment turned large sums of foreign money, laptops, credit cards and more of the ATM devices.
