His Majesty King Abdullah II, met with a number of journalists and media representatives on Monday, October 1, 2018.

According to the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), the meeting focused on a number of issues related to media information and local affairs as well as current domestic issues and latest regional and international developments.

His Majesty confirmed that everyone should abide to law and that no one is an exception. Adding that the enforcement of law is an official duty.

The time has come for everyone to realize that the rule of law is superior, His Majesty added.

Fighting corruption, enforcing moderation, and respecting the law are things that cannot be compromised. There is a general state of bullying, whether on a personal or country-scale, and that is not acceptable, King Abdullah reaffirmed.

His Majesty added that strict and firm measures must be taken in order to enforce the law, where everyone is held accountable, and without exception, because Jordan's interest is above all.

What we need in Jordan is to develop the political identity, where two or three parties are able to have a clear political vision and can represent the people.

His Majesty said that the problem with public administration must be address, as it requires careful planning according to a solid and systematic strategy in order to improve its performance.

Officials should perform their duties with dedication and transparency in order to better serve the citizens and boost investments.

His Majesty confirmed that media plays an essential role in providing information and facts to citizens in light of the spread of fabricated news and rumors aimed at Jordan.

The King also affirmed that Jordan’s stand on the Palestinian issue is stable and will not change. Jordan will continue to defend the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem forever, the King added.

“Our first priority was the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem. The two-state solution is the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region,” His Majesty concluded.
