A video circulating the social media shows a number of employees in the Directorate of Education for the Northern Jordan Valley, forcing the Director of Education Dr. Thuraya Hamadneh to leave her office, on Wednesday, September 27, 2018.
An altercation between Dr. Hamadneh and a number of staff occurred, with staff calling for the director to leave, “Thuraya, leave, leave, and corruption will leave with you.”
As a result, the Ministry of Education decided to refer two of the employees to retirement and transfer six other staff members out of the Directorate, as it considered the incident an abuse to the Ministry as a whole.
The Ministry said that it rejects this kind of irresponsible behaviour within educational institutions no matter the circumstances and has set up a commission to determine the causes and take the necessary measures in order to prevent recurrence of such an incident.
