A screaming match between a traffic police officer and an MP was caught on video earlier today.

In the nine-second video, the distressed officer is heard yelling at the driver: “You’re just like everyone else, just like the rest of us. Even if you are an MP, you need to address me politely.”

The incident took place at one of Amman’s main circles, however, Roya was unable to verify the root of the argument between the two men.

Social media users had a field day with the video, with hundreds of them praising the officer for standing up to the MP and "putting him in his place," while snowballing the latter with criticism and insults.

With citizens taking the officer’s side, they pointed out that MPs should not have immunity or be above the law.

Surely MPs have certain powers because of their position in government, however, they too should respect the law and others who also work for the government.
