Sara Iftekhar has just made international headlines as the first Muslim beauty queen to reach the Miss England finals… in a hijab.

The 20-year-old University of Huddersfield student is set to walk the famous catwalk next week with her headscarf in tow.

In July, the young finalist told her thousands of Instagram followers that she can’t “even comprehend” how “amazing it is” to have reached the competition's finals.

“Wowwwwwww!!!! I can’t even comprehend how amazing it felt for my name to be announced as a finalist in the Miss England Finals 2018! Alhamdullilah.

'It was an incredible experience and something which I will never be able to forget. The opportunities which I have received with being a finalist in Miss England are opportunities which I would never have thought of and will forever be grateful for.”

Sara is not only a beauty queen, but an accomplished businesswoman too, who started her own business at the age of 16.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but Sara believes that “beauty doesn't have a definition, everyone is beautiful in their own way, regardless of their weight, race, colour or shape.”

Sara is also using her time in the spotlight to fundraise for Beauty with a Purpose, a non-profit organisation which raises money for local and international organisations in order to help unprivileged children around the world.

If Sara wins the Miss England title next week, she will be jetting off to China to compete in the Miss World competition this December.
