A father in his thirties was arrested by police officers on Tuesday night after threatening to commit suicide with his daughter.

The man had threatened to jump off the roof of a hotel in Aqaba with his four-year-old child, according to a security source.

It is unknown why the distressed parent attempted to end his and his daughter’s life, but he was taken into police custody where he had to answer questions about his actions.

The child is said to be doing well and will most likely be referred to a child psychologist.
