As a sign of bilateral relations between Jordan and Israel, especially in the field of defense, the latter recently gifted a Merkava tank, so it can join the permanent exhibition at the Royal Tank Museum, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The tank, which is considered one of Israel’s most developed military vehicles and its main battle tank, was sent to Jordan less than two weeks ago aboard a flatbed truck.

The museum will showcase the Merkava alongside its exhibition of other tanks and armored vehicles used by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF), in addition to other prominent tanks from around the world.

The Royal Tank Museum, which was established through a Royal decree in 2007, aims to display the JAF's select tanks and vehicles, along with equipment from the world military heritage.
