Jordan Armed Forces facilitate relief aid to displaced Syrians

Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army sent convoys of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people affected by the recent escalation in the south of Syria, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Jumana Ghunaimat, said on Saturday.

Ghunaimat explained that Jordan cannot stand alone in supporting the Syrian brethren, and that the international community should support Jordan in its efforts to find political solutions that guarantee security and stability in the region.

The minister stressed on the importance of international relief organizations in providing humanitarian assistance to people inside Syria, adding that Jordan cannot open its border despite the difficult humanitarian situation.

She expressed Jordan’s hopes that the UN will take practical steps to help displaced people and provide their basic needs, particularly water, food and medical supplies. Gunaimat pointed out that the Jordan is willing to help Syrians inside their country and fully cooperate with the UN.

“Jordan hopes that the United Nations will take practical steps to help displaced people and provide them with their living needs, especially in the provision of water, food and medical supplies,” Ghunaimat reported to Petra news agency.
