It is certainly uplifting when a search and rescue story concludes on a positive note and in the case of three-year-old Jordanian girl that got lost in the woods, a sigh of relief is definitely due.

Civil defense rescue teams from Madaba were informed by distressed parents on Monday afternoon that their toddler  was nowhere to be found in the southern outskirts of Abu Halilifa.

Her parents and authorities looked for her in the desertous terrain overnight in a search mission that lasted over 11 hours.

In the early hours of Tuesday, around dawn, the girl was found asleep under a tree located a little over two kilometers from her home.

She was given first aid by an ambulance on the site but it was soon revealed that she was in good health and the only thing she urgently needed was water.

According to the rescue team, she had wandered off and taken a nap after tiring from the walk. She was well-received by her parents and will probably be more cautious in the future.
