Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was discharged from Ramallah’s Arab Advisory Hospital on Sunday morning according to PA’s press center, Maan News Agency reported.
His release comes one day after the hospital’s director, Saed Sarahneh, insisted that there was no specific date for the release of the president.
Abbas, 82, had been receiving treatment for pneumonia in the cardiology department after being rushed to the hospital last Monday for the third time in a week.
According to Maan his temperature had risen to 40 degrees and he had previously undergone a minor ear surgery.
Despite being under hospital care for the past week, the president had received a number of Palestinian officials and held telephone conversations with a number of Arab leaders.
