Those who fast Ramadan need to choose the right foods for their Suhoor, which is the most important meal during the holy month. This pre-dawn meal helps fasters survive the long, hot fasting days without food and water, while keeping them healthy and full of nutrients until Iftar time.
One of the most useful foodstuffs one can consume during Suhoor is bananas, and this is why:
1- Bananas will make you feel less thirsty as they contain Potassium, which is also anti-inflammatory and treats irritated intestines when combined with milk.
2- They will make you feel fuller for longer because they contain complex starches that need more time to be digested.
3- Bananas contain natural sugars, meaning they will give you a boost of energy and keep you active, instead of feeling weak and exhausted.
4- Finally, Bananas will make you feel relaxed and happy as they contain Tryptophan, which helps improve your mood.
Keeping a healthy diet during Ramadan and the rest of the year is essential for your well-being, therefore eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is highly recommended.
