The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) announced on Wednesday that they’ve rejected the emergency medical aid offered by the Israeli Magen David Adom service.

The Magen David Adom, or “Red Shield of David,” is Israel's national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service.

Palestinians in Gaza refused to let trucks carrying medical aid through the Karam Abu Salem border on Tuesday evening.

The PNA explained that they refuse to glorify Israel’s image by showing them as compassionate or humanitarian.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll in Gaza had risen to 62 since Monday, while 3,188 more Palestinians were injured during clashes with the Israeli forces along the Israeli-Gaza border.

Tuesday was a sorrowful day for Palestinians as it marked Nakba Day; the day Palestinians mark the 70th anniversary of the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of people during the creation of Israel.
