Thursday’s weather was yet again very dusty and accompanied by strong winds in Southern Jordan; so strong that they broke some cars’ windows.

A taxi driver who was headed to Petra from Amman told Roya that the extremely strong winds shattered his vehicle’s windows, adding that the winds were carrying soil and small stones with them.

“I’ve never seen strong winds like these before,” the taxi driver said.

The weather was so bad on the desert road leading from Amman to Aqaba on Thursday that visibility was almost non-existent.

Unsurprisingly, as a result of the extreme weather conditions, at some point in the day, traffic almost came to a standstill.
