Palestinians in Gaza are preparing for the weekly Friday demonstrations near the borders with Israel, as part of the Great Return March demonstrations, which started on 30 March, 2018.

Demonstrations usually start after Friday prayers and continue until the end of the day.

Today's demonstrations are expected to have more protestors, and even more protestors on Tuesday, which will mark the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba Day, that left thousands of Palestinians displaced. Tuesday's demonstration will be the last of the Great Return March demonstrations, according to the March's organizers.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Wednesday that 47 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces and thousands were injured since the beginning of the demonstrations.

Two journalists were among those killed in the protests; they were doing their jobs and wearing PRESS vests at the time.
