The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Council has issued the permitted working hours for businesses located in residential and commercial areas in Jordan in a session on Wednesday.

During Ramadan, businesses can open their doors at 8 a.m. and operate until 2 a.m., according to the GAM press release.

The decision was based on Article 5 of the by-law that regulates restaurants, cafes, clubs, playfields, theatres, cinemas and entertainment parks under the jurisdiction of GAM, number (31) for the year 2017.

Outside the scope of the holy month, the aforestated businesses are allowed to open at 8 a.m. and close at 12 midnight during the summer and from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. during the winter, according to the decision.
