Three Palestinians were killed on Sunday; another was arrested near the Gaza borders, the Israeli forces announced.

Spokesperson of the Israeli forces said that the three Palestinians were killed in two different incidents.

The first incident witnessed one causality while the other was arrested trying to sneak into Israel, he claimed.

In the second incident, two were killed while also trying to cross the borders into Israel, and attempting to attack Israeli forces with explosive devices, according to the Israeli forces.

At least 40 Palestinians were killed, hundreds were injured since the Great Return March demonstrations near the Gaza borders started earlier in March 30.

Demonstrators called for lifting the decade-long siege imposed on the coastal enclave, and for their right to return to their villages they were expelled from in 1948.

Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip since 2007 called for the demonstrations, adopting for the first time in a while the popular resistance.
