Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs announced on Tuesday that a Jordanian citizen was among the 10 people who were killed in Toronto’s van attack on Monday.

The man, identified as Munir Najjar, was in Toronto visiting his son when a car rammed into pedestrians on a crowded Toronto sidewalk.

Ten people were killed and 14 injured and according to the Canadian police, the act was intentional. The man accused of the deadly attack, identified as Alek Minassian, 25 was arrested several blocks away from the scene.

The Canadian authorities are still investigating the incident and the the Jordanian Embassy in Ottawa is aiding Najjar’s family to coordinate the repatriation his body to Jordan.
