A picture speaks a thousand words, and certainly this photo of a disabled Yemeni boy being carried by his elderly father during his graduation ceremony speaks volumes.

The look of pride and joy on his father’s face was an inspiring one, and a great reminder to us all of the sacrifices our parents make for us.

The boy was graduating from secondary school from Al-Noor Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind in Sanaa.

Photojournalist Farouk Muqbel captured the emotional moment on camera and video on Wednesday; it went viral on social media shortly after it was posted on the “Yemen Fans” Instagram page.

The Center was founded in 1967 and serves more than 200 students with visual disabilities, most of whom are children.
