King Abdullah called on fighting cronyism, commonly known as "Wasta" in Jordan, in all of its forms, and to solidify the rule of law.

During a meeting with one of the well-known tribes in Jordan, the King said that people tend to stand against “Wasta” unless a relative of theirs is in trouble. Furthermore, the King urged Jordanians to stick to self-reliance and to be transparent.

Moreover, the King pointed out that the international society has begun to realize the importance of Jordan’s stability in the middle of a chaotic region.

“Many foreign states prioritize those countries that positively affect the world, and to the Netherlands we are among the top five in that field, which led them to increase their support to Jordan, especially in agriculture.”

On the other hand, the King said that he is optimistic about the economic situation in Jordan, as there will be a functioning bridge between Iraq and Egypt that goes through Jordan.
