The Anti-Narcotics Department captured two men in Irbid, northern Jordan, wanted for drug-trafficking charges on Thursday evening, according to an official security statement.

The officers were in the process of ambushing the men when they were spotted.

According to the statement, the men tried to flee in a car as soon as they saw the security forces approaching them.

The escapees were caught after causing a minor road accident in which no one was harmed.

Since they are wanted for drug charges, the Prosecutor General at the State Security Court will handle the case after the preliminary investigation is over, the statement added.
