The State Security Court has sentenced two men to ten years in prison for plotting to blow up the Russian, Israeli and Iranian embassies in Amman.

Both suspects, who are in their twenties, were convicted on Wednesday of conspiracy with the intent of carrying out a terrorist act.

The men had previously tested out a diminutive improvised explosive device, before they were able to manufacture a bigger version that they had planned to use in their attacks.

After closely monitoring the embassies in preparation for the attacks, security forces were able to intercept their moves and place them under arrest.
