Today’s “inspiring woman of the day” title goes to an Egyptian wife who is sticking to her wedding vows, word for word.

Last week, photos and videos of a woman carrying her ailing husband to hospital went viral, leaving thousands of social media users awestruck by her kind gesture. Soon after, local media was able to identify the mystery heroine and her husband.

Hiba Al Sayyed has been taking care of her other half for six years, after he was diagnosed with kidney failure, according to a report by Akhbar El Yom TV.

"My husband has been ill for six years, he has renal problems and has to have kidney dialysis several times a week. We're a low-income family and I am struggling to make sure he consistently gets his treatment because it’s extremely expensive, but I’ve never asked anyone for money," she told the TV station.

The full-time carer said that after taking her husband to hospital for dialysis, she returns home to cook and take care of their children and his late brother’s children, whom she said is struggling to provide for.

While Hiba’s husband asked her to leave him after falling ill and urged her to remarry, she insisted on sticking by him.

He told the TV station that “Hiba is loyal and I will never find anyone like her. I can never replace her. I’m nothing without her. I’m lost with her.”

The couple has been married for 14 years, and Hiba says that during their marriage, her husband never put her down or upset her.

“I can’t even begin to describe to you what Hiba means to me. She’s more compassionate towards me than the woman who carried me for nine months,” her husband said.
