The number of Jordanians who have received bread monetary support has reached 5.53 million, according to a report released by the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD).

Department Spokesman, Musa Tarawneh, told Roya on Tuesday that the total amount paid out by the government stands at around JD163 million.

He pointed out that all public servants, military personnel and employees of government institutions have received the monetary support.

On the other hand, he encouraged private sector employees to apply for the support as “the majority” of them have not yet received it until now.

He continued to say that the application, which allows for Jordanian households to apply, can be submitted on their website www.da3mak.jo.

Tarawneh assured citizens that in the case their application was rejected, they could still make inquiries, to which the department would respond.

One week ago the number of recipients stood at 5.521 million Jordanians, where 6.262 million had applied for the support.
