A twenty-eight-year-old man committed suicide on Sunday in the Northern Badia region. According to a security source the investigation is still ongoing.

The man was found hanged in his family house and his body was transferred to Mafraq Hospital.

Another suicide happened in Irbid on Thursday, where a man in his sixties doused himself in fuel and set himself on fire.

Figures announced by the Director of Public Security, Major General Ahmad Faqih in October 2017 indicated that between Jan.-Oct. 2017 there were 104 suicides and 388 suicide attempts.

In the past six years the suicide rate has been the highest in Amman and the lowest in Aqaba.
