The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Syrian regime forces have retaken two more towns in Eastern Ghouta on Saturday.

SOHR has said that the violent attacks have caused thousands of civilians to flee into regime-held territory as government forces seized Kafr Batna and Sabqa in the south of the enclave.

The Syrian regime forces have succeeded in retaking more than 80 percent of opposition-held areas outside Damascus. Since the start of the military assault on Feb. 18, more than 1400 civilians have been killed since the start of the assault, according to the observatory.
