RJ operates a female-only flight on Women's Day

Royal Jordanian celebrated International Women’s Day by operating a flight from Amman to Aqaba by an all-female crew, Petra News Agency reported.

The scheduled flight was operated by a captain, first officer, and three flight attendants.

Passengers on the A320 aircraft expressed admiration and gratitude for the airline which empowers women to participate in an industry that has long been dominated by men.

CEO Stefan Pichler, said: "RJ spared no efforts in offering all the support to these women who played a major part in the progress of the company, investing in their competencies and giving them the opportunity to be promoted".

According to Pichler, the first female captain in the Arab world was among RJ’s crew. He continued to say that currently three female captains and five first officers serve at the airlines.

Pichler added that women have held different important positions in RJ including vice president, heads of departments, directors, area managers, station managers, accounting managers, among others.
