The Anti-Narcotics Department foiled a drug smuggling attempt at Queen Alia International Airport on Monday.

The authority arrested two drug dealers and seized half a kilogram of cocaine and a large amount of illegal pills before the offenders could sell them in Jordan.

A security source told Roya that several weeks ago, the Department received a tip about a man who was planning on smuggling drugs into the kingdom via Amman’s international airport.

After tracking his movements and collecting information about his scheduled flight, the dealer was arrested after landing in the capital from a neighbouring country.

The man’s partner was waiting for him near the airport building, according to the source.
He was arrested shortly after handcuffing the first culprit, who was hiding the drugs under his clothes.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
