11 people on Friday were killed, 32 wounded, in a crash involving many cars in Minya province, south of Cairo, according to the Egyptian Ministry of health said.

The ministry said that the accident took place on the borders of Minya, on the road that is connecting it to Cairo.

Two incidents took place in the same area; the first was a crash of three cars, and another in which a car overturned, according to the Egyptian newspaper of Al-Ahram.

It’s usual for cars in Egypt to have such accidents due to badly maintained roads and poor implementation of traffic laws.

According to The World Health Organization (WHO), road accidents kill around 12,000 people in Egypt annually.
