A cat-astrophe almost ensued on Tuesday night when a cat got stuck between the metal parts of a car garage door in a small village in Irbid.

The animal was in distress for several hours before a team from the General Directorate of Civil Defence turned up at the scene and set it free.

Over the years, the Civil Defence Directorate has had to save many felines in trouble, all across the country.

Some of those times were:

The time a cat couldn’t come down from a tree standing at 30 meters high.

The time a kitty got stuck on the roof of a building for days.

The time one cat got trapped on a windowsill on the third floor of a school.

The time a furball was stuck on the balcony of an abandoned flat for three days.

If you come across a cat that needs help and you’re unable to save it, or if you’re in any kind of trouble, dial 911 for help or click here to contact one of the Civil Defence Directorate’s departments.
