Around 40 football fans were injured at a stadium in Kuwait on Friday, when a glass barrier collapsed following a match, according to BBC.

The incident occured after Omani fans rushed to greet their winning team in the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup.

According to the state news agency Kuna, the barrier collapsed due to the moving-fans pressure.

The fans were taken to hospital, after being hurt while rushing to celebrate with players, the Kuwait FA wrote on Twitter.

Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Prime Minister, visited injured fans in hospital, Kuwait FA posted on social media
